Title Research

In this piece of research I looked at two opening sequences for coming-of-age films, but concentrated on the text, to see what it gave away about the narrative, how it engaged the audience and why it was necessary. I took screenshots of all the text in the opening sequences for 10 Things I Hate About You and Home Alone.

Learning Comment

From this piece of research I have learnt what information is important to include in an opening sequence. I believe that, because the target audience for my opening sequence will be teenagers, the typography needs to be interesting and eye catching, but that it is important for the characters to be introduced as, personally, I found the opening sequence for Home Alone not particularly engaging.
